I just recently purchased a Kingston 4GB SDHC memory card to go along with my new Canon SD 790 IS. However, I'm starting to hear that SanDisk is a more reliable memory card.

My question is, should I keep this particular memory card and save myself the time and money or should I switch to a SanDisk 4GB SDHC, considering its reliability. Is there even a noticeable difference between the two brands? Thanks.

Here is the Kingston 4GB SDHC memory card that I currently own:

Both brands are very good, and there's no reason to get a card to replace your Kingston. In terms of in-camera speed, you are unlikely to see a difference.

However, I am also an advocate of having a backup memory card, so while I would say you should keep your Kingston, I would also say you should have a backup memory card, which could easily be the SanDisk (or you could buy the SanDisk and keep the Kingston for backup).

Actually Kingston has been making memory since before digital cameras were even available to consumers.

I don't know who said these things about your fine card, but unless they own ten or so memory cards of different manufacturers and have some experience with one being better than another, don't listen.

The only warning at present has to do with buying memory cards on the Internet from unknown stores.
