I'm looking into a Nikon D40 and I was wondering if its possible to set up the camera to where you can preview them before actually taking them like on most other point and shoot cameras. Is this possible or am I out of luck?

Nikon D40 is a SLR camera, It works on the principal of single lens Reflection. It has a mirror in it. which helps u see what you are going to shoot on the eyepiece. Once u click it stores the image in the film/CCD.
what you are taking is general feature of point and shoot. It already processes the image and shows you the results. ( its generally not what you see in real. its processed one little slower than real world ) You can fine more details in the site.. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/camera5.htm |

No, The Nikon D40 does not have live view. Most DSLR cameras do not. There are a couple that do have live view though.
Check out the Canon Rebel XSi. It does cost about twice as much as the D40 though. IMO live view is not necessary. Your shots are much better composed through the viewfinder. It will take a little practice but you will be much happier if you learn to use the viewfinder. |
